Write Away Now was built around one belief: that every woman has a story worth telling — and that the right space, the right time, and the right company can unlock it.
How Write Away Now began
Write Away Now grew out of a simple frustration: there was no place that felt made for women who write seriously but not professionally — women who have a novel half-finished in a drawer, a memoir they've been circling for years, a voice they haven't quite trusted yet.
Kate Noel Wells has spent her career writing and teaching across the country and around the world. What she found, everywhere she went, was that women write differently when they feel safe — more honestly, more boldly, more like themselves.
Write Away Now is the formal home for that work. Small retreats, beautiful places, and a facilitator who believes your writing matters.

Every woman deserves time and space to write — not someday, but now.
Small by design
Retreats stay under twelve participants. Intimacy is not incidental — it's the whole point.
Place matters
We choose locations that do something to you — mountains, coastlines, quiet towns. The landscape is part of the work.

Kate Noel Wells is a bestselling author whose work has reached readers across the country and around the world. She has spent her career writing, teaching, and speaking — and she brings that breadth of experience to every retreat she leads.
Her approach draws on narrative craft, a deep respect for the stories women carry, and years of working with writers at every level. She has taught at writing centers, universities, and independent workshops across the United States and abroad.
Kate believes the best writing happens when a woman stops performing and starts listening — to herself, to the story, to what wants to be said.
